Tuckahoe Police Motorcycle Unit Ride

One of Launch 5’s specialties, and something that as an organization it has been actively doing since its inception is to host members of our civil and military services on board in their hour of need. Numerous studies have shown that being on or near water is extremely therapeutic, especially for survivors of any kind of trauma.

At the request of one of our most dedicated volunteers, Sergeant David Bank, Launch 5 hosted an evening ride for members of the Tuckahoe Police Motorcycle Unit. One of the members of the unit, Detective Fred Cioffi was struck by a tractor truck while on duty in 2009 and was seriously injured. Since then, he has undergone multiple surgeries. The Launch was proud to have him and other members of the unit on board for a peaceful and sometimes hilarious evening ride.
